Hi, I’m Abhinav, born and bred in an academic focus household where Dad rocked the professorial throne, Mom ruled the classroom, and my sister? Oh, just a casual university gold medalist. Now, you’d think I’d be the poster child for acing exams, right? Wrong!
I found solace in a world of drawing and singing, far away from the pursuit of top-class student status. My pursuit led me to unique learning secrets and suddenly, learning became a canvas of connection using mind maps, sketch notes, memory techniques and hilarious rhymes to remember topics.
Amidst my hobby of playing guitar, piano, and mouth organ, I even had a stint on Indian Idol – because why not? Earned a degree in Electrical Engineering & an MBA from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee and climbed the corporate ladder to senior & leadership roles. I used mind maps and visual notes extensively at work and also conducted workshops for schools and some Fortune 500 companies. Never thought I would be teaching teachers how to teach using Mind Maps and other techniques, but it happened.
In 2011 I got trained by the legendary Tony Buzan, the maestro behind Mind Maps.
My love for teaching led to the birth of “RackTheBrain” in 2007. My mission? To make learning a carnival of fun, with techniques that can help crack the tough exams. Since the inception of RackTheBrain, I’ve been on a rollercoaster of knowledge, mentoring 5000+ learners across three countries, 100+ schools, and 1000+ teachers.
Working with gifted kids, kids with dyslexia, Visual facilitation for corporates, and brain games sessions for kids and elders through Alzheimer’s Australia is an unparalleled experience personally.
